2015 CAREER EXPO: Connecting Employers & Job Seekers
The 2015 Career Expo was a huge success, and Goodwill was there to help make it happen!
Hosted by the City of Austin and Goodwill, the annual event connects job seekers with employers looking for the next member of their team. And great news! At this year’s event, it was obvious that the word was out – Career Expo is a great resource for job search – because the number of attendees this year increased over 50% from last year!
The Expo featured 112 employers who are looking for new hires, 2,312 job seekers, and 52 Goodwill volunteers who helped the event run smoothly. We also assisted 113 job applicants with resume coaching.
Goodwill is delighted to be a part of an event that directly supports our vision: To empower 100,000 Central Texans to transform their lives through the power of work. Participation in the City of Austin Career Expo allows us yet another opportunity to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers seeking qualified applicants. Sure, it’s work – but it’s also fun! Just check out these snaps and check out that crowd.
To make sure the Expo was an inclusive event, Goodwill provided other volunteer personnel such as sign language interpreters, bilingual interpreters, and sighted guides for the visually impaired.
With successful events like this, we’re inspired to work even harder to get people to work! See you at next year’s Career Expo!
