Where Are They Now: Albert’s Electrifying Career!
“Goodwill gave me the tools and the chance I needed. It was up to me to advance myself into what I’ve become, and now I’m on the path for my dream career.”
You may remember hearing about Albert. After his grandmother who adopted him passed away, Albert spent much of his childhood bouncing between family members and going in and out of foster care. This lack of stability meant school wasn’t a priority; he got into trouble and was eventually arrested.
These days, Albert is working full time in the Facilities Electrical Department at Samsung and attending college to get his Journeyman’s License, studying under a Master Electrician. How did he do it? [MEET ALBERT]

Funding for our Future: Our Children
Not only are we offering the dream of a high school diploma to adults 17-50 at The Goodwill Excel Center, we’ve now received funding to expand our pre-K childcare curriculum at The Exploration Center – our free, fully licensed, childcare facility housed inside the high school! We have several companies to thank for their generous investments in our future generation: Thank you, KLE Foundation and United Way, for your investment in our next generation of leaders and supporting Goodwill in improving the quality of our program that allows children to transition from basic childcare to a true pre-K program. On Valentine’s Day, Goodwill Business Solutions opened a new outbound business-to-business Call Center, GoodCall, located at our main offices in Austin. YPC Media, the Call Center’s first business partner and customer, are heavily dedicated to our mission of generating lifelong connections to work.
