Goodwill Central Texas Announces the Opening of a New Business-to-Business Call Center
AUSTIN, TX — Goodwill Central Texas and their Business Solutions division has announced the opening of a new outbound business-to-business Call Center, GoodCall, located in their main headquarters at 1015 Norwood Park Blvd. in Austin. The Call Center currently employs 8 employees, and there are plans to expand that number to at least 20 by the end of 2017.
“We are very excited to have this opportunity to be a part of supporting Goodwill’s vision of empowering 100,000 Central Texans to transform their lives through work,” said Michael Pavone, CEO of YPC Media, Inc., GoodCall’s first client. “Not only will this Call Center help us more firmly establish our business on the West Coast, it will help Goodwill program participants who have had overcome employment obstacles in the past, obtain good jobs.”
“We knew there was a significant need in our community for the job-ready talent for Call Center operations,” said Robyn Householder, Goodwill Central Texas Vice President of Business Development. “Part of our job is to figure out what talent the area is lacking, then create the training and tools to fill those gaps and create opportunities for the people we serve. GoodCall is a great example of that.”
Another key organization in the planning and development of GoodCall has been the Austin Contact Center Alliance (ACCA), which has also been looking for solutions to fill the gaps of untrained talent in the call centers in the Austin area.
GoodCall will be officially open with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on February 14, and planned to be in attendance are Michael Pavone; Jim Pavone, YPC Media CFO; Mark Hiemstra, Goodwill Central Texas COO, ACCA, and Robyn Householder.
YPC Media is heavily investing in the infrastructure of the Call Center, providing substantial funding in teleconferencing equipment including phones, switches, computers, monitors, and other necessities for a successful operation.
The staff of the Call Center is bilingual, another reason YPC Media chose to establish GoodCall in Austin. The current starting pay rate is $13/hour, with performance incentives offered.
