Goodwill Central Texas is committed to fostering, cultivating, and preserving a culture of diversity and inclusion in which all Team Members are valued for their skills, experiences, and unique perspectives. This commitment is embodied in our company policies and in the way we do business. Working together as a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization is essential to our success.
At Goodwill Central Texas, we:
We embrace and encourage our Team Members’ differences in age, color, disability, ethnicity, family or marital status, gender identity or expression, language, national origin, physical and mental ability, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, veteran status, and other characteristics that make our Team Members unique. We recruit from diverse talent pools. We hire based on skills, experiences, and shared values and, communicate in a manner that all can understand. We develop, evaluate, and promote based on all our Team Members’ qualities with the recognition that Diversity adds value to Goodwill. We know differences are platforms for innovation. We are creating a culture in which our Team Members don’t just feel included, they are included.
Every month, our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging (DEI&B) Council shares information and insight into different marginalized cultures through educational opportunities and communication. We typically follow the National Diversity Council’s lead in recognizing marginalized individuals, advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in our workplaces, and valuing all Team Members for their talents, and empowering them to reach their fullest potential. GCT promotes a culture of inclusion by fostering respective communication, collaboration, and teamwork.
We celebrate the following DEI&B events throughout the year:
