There’s no doubt stepping inside one of the 38 Goodwill Central Texas stores is thoroughly enjoyable. From the friendly store associates to the ever-changing selection of new and gently-used goods, it’s a shopping and saving experience unlike any other. But what exactly makes our Goodwill stores such a go-to destination? The answer is the team behind it all — comprised of numerous groups who are united under one mission: transforming generations by empowering people through education, career training, and work.

Goodwill Central Texas: The Bigger Picture

There are several areas throughout the organization where an individual may choose to work. Here’s a brief breakdown:

  • The Goodwill Excel Center: a free adult high school where students ages 18 – 50 can earn their diploma and train for a career certification
  • Goodwill Career & Technical Academy: a comprehensive training facility that offers courses in high-demand industries, such as healthcare, IT, and skilled trades, and prepares students for their career certification exam
  • GSG Talent Solutions: a staffing agency that places people facing obstacles to securing employment into sustainable careers through partnerships with area employers
  • Goodwill Workforce Advancement: a team of career-readiness professionals who provide job seekers with job-searching assistance, digital and soft skills development, resume retooling, interview prep, and more
  • Goodwill Commercial Services: a division that provides local companies with business solutions like personnel, facility management, and packaging and assembly
  • Retail: a team who is responsible for merchandising, transporting, or recycling donations from the community 

And of course, there are many administrative departments at the Goodwill Community Center, such as Human Resources, Marketing, Fundraising, Learning & Development, and Finance, that support and promote our mission.
