Five Weeks to a Brighter Future: Paid Internship with Coaching

The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is a long-standing partnership with Travis County Children and Youth Services. SYEP offers a five-week paid internship with on-the-job group job coaching.

TO REGISTER FOR SYEP, STUDENTS MUST BE:

  • 14 to 22 years old
  • Enrolled in high school or post-secondary education program
  • Living in Travis County
  • Able to work independently up to five minutes at a time

Unlock Skills and Earnings

Summer Earn and Learn (SEAL) is a grant partnership with the Texas Workforce Commission. It offers two five-week internship options where interns receive on-the-job group job coaching or more individualized support.

TO REGISTER FOR SEAL, STUDENTS MUST BE:

  • 16 to 22 years old
  • Enrolled in high school or post-secondary education program
  • Referred by a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the Texas Workforce Commission

Robbie Lutz Client of the Year Honoree

Robbie Lutz, an avid animal lover, started working at Austin Veterinary Emergency and Specialty (AVES) as an intern after going through Goodwill’s Summer Earn and Learn (SEAL) program. He is now a full-time employee. Robbie works with a Goodwill job coach on opportunities for growth at AVES as well as interview and job skills.
